Rustic Charm and Comfort… The main lodge was constructed back in the early 1920's,although fully modernized, and to this day maintains a rich and colorful history. After a fabulous day on the lake, guests of the lodge can retire to their own comfortable cottage by the lake.
All cottages are fully modern, featuring 3 piece bath, hot and cold water and clean, worry free electric heat.Over the years, a dining room, lounge area with fireplace, game room and seminar facilities have been added to keep up with today's demands. The charm and comfort that the original rustic building conveys has been well maintained.
The only lodge on the lake and the owners take great pride in the responsibility of preserving the fish stock. Through barbless fishing, education in catch and release methods and alternative fish mounting techniques, they ensure a strong fishery for years to come
The lake is 18 miles long, covering roughly 400 square miles. It features a chain of islands running across the center for unique fishing opportunities and protection on windy days. The cool, pollution free waters are considered to be among some of the most productive in North America. Walleye average 2 to 4 pounds. Northern average 4 to 8 pounds with many trophies in the 20+pound plus class. Also for the fisherman... Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout and Small Mouth Bass can be found just a short drive away at neighboring lakes!
The American Plan cottages are beautiful log units with comfortable sleeping arrangements. The housekeeping cottages are well equipped for guests of the lodge, featuring a kitchenette with full sized fridge, coffee pot and electric toaster along with all pots, pans and dishes.
Personalized service is #1 with this lodge. They limit the number of hunters they take each season. Bear Hunting is not a sideline business for the owners. They run a quality, guided hunt catering to bow and gun hunters. The lodge provides the guests with the highest possible chance of success. Hunters take a yearly average of 30 – 35% of the off-colored bears.
